The South Texas Afghanistan Iraq Veterans Association is a non-profit organization which helps ease the transition for military members of all branches and their families from military to civilian life. Our goal is to help, advocate, educate, assist veterans to any needed resources, funding, medical care and emotional support.
Navigating through civilian life after the military can be difficult, leading to confusion, stress and feeling disconnected from the community. Many veterans lack immediate assistance. The organization has identified homelessness, food insecurity, inability to pay basic utilities and mental health as a major stressor that affects veteran’s psychological and physical health. Our vision is to provide immediate help and temporary relief while directing them to sustainable and lasting solutions.
The overall vision program's statement is to assists, enhance and facilitate former military members and veterans in the obtainment of benefits and mental health assistance while contributing to our local community.
